The Evolution of Whitty Wire Jewelry
Handcrafts have always been a passion for me when at an early age I learned the value of creating handmade items for the home. What my mother taught me has now evolved into a creative outlet that I enjoy sharing with others.

Whitty Wire Jewelry first began as a hobby when I began creating jewelry for myself, family and friends. Soon I was being asked about the jewelry I was wearing and where it could be purchased and thus Whitty Wire Jewelry was created in 2010. What began as only basic wire wrapping and coiling techniques has now evolved to a blending of multiple jewelry techniques to include Viking knit, French knit, wire crochet, wire weaving and more advanced wire wrapping. I also do some metal smithing, work with precious metal clays, and create my own dichroic glass cabachons for use in my jewelry.

Using various materials in my jewelry helps create more versatility and helps create different price points. Materials I use are the precious metals with sterling silver, fine silver and 14K gold filled metals. Some of the knit pieces may use nickel free, tarnish proof silver plated, gold plated and colored wires for bracelets and necklaces. Due to concerns for metal allergies, all of my ear wires or earring posts are created using either sterling silver or 14K gold filled wires. I can also obtain surgical steel ear wires upon request. On my Etsy site, all my jewelry pieces have a list of what materials were used in making them.

I accept custom orders as well. If you see one of my jewelry pieces you would want made of another material or color, email me and I will be glad to work with you.

My art is continually evolving and you will notice that new styles and one of a kind items will be appearing in my shop.
